Thank You Teacher! Sample Wording

Thank You Teacher!

Good teachers are a rare breed.  They are knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic and kind.  They manage all this in the face of students who often don't want to be taught.

It's the least we can do to say "Thank you teacher!" once in a while.  Here are some suggestions.

Hint: Including a specific example of how the teacher helped your child will make your note extra-special.

Thank You Teacher: From Parent to Child's Teacher

Dear Mrs. Hecox, Thank you for being an excellent educator! We know teachers like you are not easy to find. We appreciate your time, your patience, your ability to make a dry subject interesting, and your smile :) Have a great break!

Dear Mrs. Brown,

Where do I begin? Probably before the school year even started, when I heard such nice things about you. Based on popular opinion, I expected great things this year-- and I have not been disappointed. Trevor always has positive things to say about your class, from your animated storytelling to your funny dog stories to your kindness on the playground. It's comforting to know that not only is Trevor getting a great education, but he is happy at school as well.

Thank you for all your hard work. We truly appreciate it.

Hi Mrs. Boppy,

I wish I'd had a chance to say a proper thank you in person to you for being such a fantastic teacher. Lionel had a terrific experience in your class and from what I could observe when I volunteered on Fridays, I can see why. You have such enthusiasm and patience. I don't know how you're able to keep it up!

Thank you also for the lovely earrings. They're perfect for summer. They even have school colors :)

Hope you have a great summer!

Dear Miss Jennifer,

My husband and I are so happy that Luke is enjoying preschool, you have no idea. It's not easy to send your first child to school but seeing what a ball Luke is having makes it a breeze. And we know we have you to thank for that. The activities you plan, the room you decorate, the friendships you help foster-- it's all incredible, and it's helping our son (and us!) believe that school is fun, which is incredibly important.

Thanks for everything!

Dear Mrs. Knight,

Thank you for all your hard work this year. Britt loves school and it's easy to see why. We hear all about the dynamic way you deliver lessons and encourage participation and are pleased that our daughter is learning so much.

Enjoy the rest of the school year. You're doing a fantastic job!

Dear Mr. Cyr,

We feel so lucky to have gotten you as a teacher this year.  Abby loved your class from the start and never grew bored.  You helped her get organized, motivated, and above all, interested in learning, which is no small feat.  The whole family thanks you!

Have a great summer.  You deserve it!

Write a Thank You Note to Preschool Teacher [Plus Thank You Quotes for Teachers]

sample thank you note to teachers

Who can understand the teachers’ work better than the parents? The children are too little persons to realize how hard it is, to deal with the messy crowd of tiny bodies that are full of endless energy, creativity, and, sometimes, contumacy. Now, being the adults, we can only think of old school times to laugh at our weird behavior and the teachers’ love and subaudition, as it was impossible to talk with us – we did not want to discuss some topics (especially if they touched personal life and all the troubles related to the school subjects).

It is important to support the teachers, as their politeness, kindness, and attentiveness help us grow and develop. The parents are always grateful to the persons who help them to teach their children and sometimes try to thank them for their work. If you are in this grateful group and do not know how to express your feelings – check our warm thank you notes for teachers to get a bit of inspiration.

Thank You Note to Preschool Teacher from Parents

A teacher is a strict and strong father, a gentle and loving mother, a cool and intelligent friend and just a kind person. If you want to support a preschool teacher of your child – take one of these nice sayings and include them in your grateful letter. Be sure, he or she will appreciate that with all the heart!

  • “We, parents, may be accountants, scientists, doctors, and engineers – but nothing contributes to the nation’s development more than the sacrifices made by teachers. Thank you.”
  • “The school may have found a teacher in you, but our child found a hero in you. Thanks.”
  • “Teachers should be called Fillers because they fill all the gaps and crevices in a child’s life. Thanks for making our child’s life rounded and complete.”
  • “Your words are the sparks that light up our children’s futures. Thank you.”
  • “For the world, you are one person, but for our children, you are the world! Thank you, teacher.”
  • We know some times, your own children were deprived of your care and attention because you were busy attending to ours. We would like your children to know how awesome you are and implore them to be grateful to have such a person as you.
  • I have you to thank for inspiring my child to come out of her shell. She loves you so dearly, and she seems to think that you are made of magic. Thank you for being so good and so patient with her. I’m so glad for teachers like you who really make a difference in a child’s life. God bless you more and keep up the wonderful work!
  • Thank you for being the guiding light, and for always being nice to our child. Thanks for everything that you do.
  • Teachers like you are one in a million! Thank you so much!
  • Thank you for creating such a fun and educational environment for (name of a child). We really appreciate it.

Thank You for Being a Great Teacher

Do you have a lot to say to the teacher of your child? Do you feel that it will be not enough to tell one or two phrases? Take these big monologues, full of emotions and gratitude, and feel certain – your greeting will be the best one among those short and shy sayings from the other parents!

  • “Teachers are probably the most underrated yet the most powerful professionals in the whole world. Their work has a long-term impact on not just the lives of the children they teach but on society as a whole. They have the power to shape generations, impact minds and make the world a better place. Thank you for your contribution.”
  • “Our once introvert child’s personality has bloomed open like a beautiful fragrant flower ever since being tended by a lovely gardener in the form of a teacher like you. Thanks.”
  • “We might not be paid to teach our children the values of life, but your salaries are far too miniscule considering that your words will resonate inside our children’s minds for the rest of their lives. Thank you for taking good care of our child.”
  • “Parents have got the easy job of raising our own kids. They are rewarded for all their sacrifices with the joy of watching their own blood grow up into fine young men and women. Teachers have got the tough jobs. Their rewards are limited to the hope that their wisdom will make a tiny difference in the lives of children, helping them to be better human beings. Thank you for all your selfless sacrifices.”
  • “As a wonderful teacher, you may not realize that all good teachers have good parental qualities. But as good parents, we realize that we don’t have exquisite teaching qualities like yours. Thank you for taking good care of our child.”
  • We are grateful that our child experienced studentship while with you. Indeed, it has shaped greatness into our child, more than we could have imagined.
  • I may not say this all the time, but your help and guidance to our children are very much appreciated. You are helping us raise them to become such talented, smart, and kind individuals. You are making our work as parents so much easier. Thank you and we appreciate you very much!
  • I’d like to give you the credit you deserve for guiding my child and for making your class a comfortable place for [him/her] to learn and grow into adulthood.
  • It is impossible to put a price tag on the kind of education our child receives because as a teacher, your guidance is truly priceless. Thank you.
  • The school may have found a teacher in you, but our child found a hero in you. Thank you!

A daughter is a little flower, full of hesitations and uncertainty. It is especially difficult to make her smile or to inspire her. Let the teacher know that you see his efforts and thank them.

Children are always eager to say something – and, fortunately, they usually say a lot of pleasant things. The positive, creative and funny teachers always inspire all the pupils, and if your child’s educator is such kind of man, be sure that your little cutie will ask you to help him/her write some heartfelt words to thank for a teacher. We provide you with several examples of how such a “thank you” should sound.

  • “Teachers like you should be immortalized so that we can forever receive the education that is truly prized. Thanks.”

  • If I hadn’t had you as a teacher, I don’t know where I’d be. You may not know it, but your classes have given me the self-confidence to follow my dreams. Thank you for that and know that you will be in my heart forever.
  • I feel so fortunate to have been placed in your class. You have amazed and inspired me daily and for that I am thankful because you are truly a wonderful teacher.
  • My teacher, I’ve learned much more than the ABCs from you. Because you’ve Always Been Caring, you’ve helped me to be more knowledgeable as well as a better person. Thank you.
  • The words won’t be enough to describe how thankful I am for the guidance and inspiration you gave me. I know being a teacher is not easy at all, but you have always supported and took care of your students as if we were your own children. Thank you for all the work.
  • By far you are one of those people I look up to. Not only are you a wonderful and talented teacher but also a role model for your students. Thank you!

Words of Appreciation for Teachers from Parents

Teachers often feel the lack of enthusiasm, as the children tend to be blind to the tiredness of their beloved educator. They can even make the things worse, supposing that he or she is getting angry on them! In such a situation a teacher can lose all the verve. However, simple words can return the mental strength to him/her, as all the teachers know the vital of words better than anyone!

  • “As parents whenever we get credit for our child’s achievements we just say ‘Our child has the best teacher’ Thanks for bringing out the best in our child.”
  • “No matter how hard parents try to give their children the best of values, they will ultimately grow up to be young adults whose personalities are shaped by teachers like you. Today we want to show gratitude for the way you have looked after our child, we know you really care because every time he has come back from school he has smiled. Thanks.”
  • “As parents, we try and give our child the best of everything at home. We rest easy because we know our child will get the best of everything at school – thanks to wonderful teachers like you.”
  • “As parents, we have lost because you are a bigger influence on our child than us. But this is one race we are happy to lose. Thanks for imparting the best lessons to our kid.”
  • “Great teachers like you aren’t always the ones who have fancy degrees and qualifications. They are the ones who have a big heart and a desire to make the world a better place one kid at a time. Thank you.”
  • We feel so lucky that our kid got you for a teacher this year. We certainly hit the jackpot in the teacher department!
  • No card could ever hold all the thanks we want to give to you for your mentorship. Thank you for being a teacher and friend for our children.
  • Thank you for sharing your gift of teaching with us!
  • Thank you for the sweat and tears you have invested in our child. You went over and beyond your pay cheque. In fact, there is no amount that can pay you back enough.

Thank You Note to Teacher from Parent

sample thank you note to teachers

Writing a thank you note to preschool teacher for teacher appreciation week or at any other time requires some work. You must take great care to do this right because you want to give the teacher the best possible feeling in their soul when they receive this note. There are some tips below that will show you how to build the best note, how to make the teacher feel great, and how to help them know that you love them for what they do.

1. Thank You Note to Preschool Teacher from Student

The thank you note to preschool teacher from a student should be something that the parents write on the kid’s behalf. There comes an age when the kids can write a note to their teachers, and you must guide them in writing something that will make the teacher’s heart flutter. The first step in any note is a good greeting, and you want the kid to talk to the teacher the way they would normally talk to them. Some kids will say hi, and other kids will say hello. Certain kids want to start with Dear Teacher, and still more kids will want to simply use the teacher’s name. Ask your kid how they would normally address their teacher, and you can go from there.

A. What Is In The Letter?

You want kids to tell their teachers that they appreciate them, that they learned something useful, and that they remember something special from the school year. There are a few sentences below that you could use with your kids so that they write the best letter for the teacher.

“Thank you for teaching me music this year. I know how all my favorite songs are written, and I am glad you showed me how the music notes work.”

“Thank you for taking care of me this year. I needed all that help with math, and I a glad you are the one who helped me.”

“Thank you for being my teacher this year. I will miss seeing you every day when I come to school.”

You can use a few sentences like this strung together to create a letter. The body of the letter will let the teacher know how the school year went in the eyes of the kid. The kid can tell you all the things they loved doing in school, and the teacher might learn a thing or two in the process.

B. How Do You Close The Letter?

You must close the letter in the way that you know your child would close it. You could have a more formal and proper child say sincerely, but other kids will say love. Let your kid tell you what they want to say to their teacher. They have a very good idea of how they want to talk to this person, and you must let your kids guide you.

“I hope I get to see you next year. Love, Caitlin.”
“I will miss you next year. Sincerely, Lucas.”
“I hope you have fun this summer! Thomas.”

Every closing that you use should be something that the teacher will expect. You know how your kid is most of the time, and you can use that information to help complete the letter in the best way possible. You must let your kids choose from a few phrases you like, or they could tell you what they want to say.

C. How To Deliver The Letter

You could deliver the letter in an envelope, or you might slide it into a card that comes with their gift. You should ask your child if they want to write the letter, or you could write it for them. They might also want to write the teacher’s name on the envelope or the outside of the letter. Make certain that the letter is delivered in a package that looks like it came from your kid. The teacher will have a smile on their face when they get a big pink envelope from the girlies girl or a letter on formal stationary from the boy who likes to wear a tie to school. The delivery of the letter is often the most important part because teachers feel so much joy before they ever read the letter.

2. Thank You Note to Preschool Teacher from Parents

Thank you notes from parents should be much more extensive when they are given for teacher appreciation week. You will be pretty happy with the letter if you sit down and think about all the little things that you appreciated about the teacher. You are welcome to write the letter in formal language, and you might choose to use the teacher’s first name. Teachers are called by their last name all day, and it would be better for you to talk to them like an adult.

“Dear Crystal”
“Dearest Sharon”

All these openings make your letter much nicer to read, and the body of the letter must be laid out so that you cover all the topics that are most important to the teacher. You want the teacher to know how you feel about them, and you want to write in the style that is best suited to your personality. They want to know you as an adult, and you could become their friend if you close the school year well.

A. What Do You Say?

You must let the teacher know how you really feel about them. You are both adults, and you can express extreme thanks and admiration in this letter. This is the time that you tell the teacher that you liked the way they dealt with your kid, or you could tell them that you liked the way you ran the class. This is the perfect time for you to share all the little things you learned from the teacher, and you can tell them that you know how much they love your kid.

B. Thank Them For Their Service

Teachers need to be thanked for their service just as much as people in the military. You should spend some time in the letter letting the teacher know that you appreciate all that they have sacrificed just to be at school. You must talk to them about the things that you want to help them with, and you could offer your assistance in the future. Some teachers always have the same parents helping them because those parents were willing to offer their services. You might be one of those people.

C. Close The Letter

You can close the letter any way that you want. Writing to another adult is much easier because you can tell them anything and they will understand. Let the teacher know that you appreciate them, or have great admiration for them. This part of the letter lets them know where you two stand.

3. Thank You Quotes For Preschool Teachers

Thank you quotes for teachers are a big part of the letter-writing process. You can find quotes online, and there are a couple listed here:

“The influence of a good teacher is never erased.”
“It takes a big heart to help shape little minds.”
“For your patience and caring, kind words and sharing, I want to say thank you.”

You must use quotes as much as you can to make the point that the teacher matters, and you could open the letter with one of these quotes. You might write the quote on the envelope, and you could use the quotes inside the letter to help the teacher remember how special they are. Teachers love inspirational quotes, and they will take those to heart when you have taken the time to write them into the letter.

4. How Do You Compose The Letter?

You have taken the time to complete a letter for the teacher, and it should be handwritten in most cases. You could write the letter in your favorite pen, or you could write the letter in a calligraphy style that you have practiced over many years. You are trying to give the teacher and experience that they will appreciate, and the handwriting for your letter makes all the difference.

The kids who write their own letter should be allowed to write in what medium they want. You might let your kid write in pencil, or you could allow them to write in crayon. You must let your kid ve as expressive as possible, and they will produce something that is good for the teacher. They will feel accomplished because they have been given this letter, and they will know that you have put so much work into it.

5. A Sample Letter

This is a sample letter from a child that could help you get some ideas for the letter. It could be much longer, but we want you to know how to begin.

Dear Teacher,

Thank you for teaching me this year. I really liked being your class, and I will miss you next year. Thank you for the treats on Fridays, for letting us go to recess, and for being so nice. Love, Andy.

A sample letter for parents is a little bit longer simply because there are more things to say. You could use this letter as a way to start your writing. Adults usually need more time to decide what to say, and you will have a lovely letter to give to the teacher when the school year ends.

Dear Cheryl,

Thank you for teaching Timmy this year. I am so glad that he had a nice teacher like you. I love the way you are so kind to the kids and call them friends. I hope that you have the most restful summer. You are a true asset to our schools, and you will be truly missed in our family. If you never need anything from me, please do not hesitate to ask. Sincerely, Linda.

6. Conclusion

The letter that you write for a teacher at the end of the year or during teacher appreciation week must be something that the teacher will treasure for years to come.
